I admit backpack traveling sounds exciting. Although I think I’d enjoy it in a very different manner. Where you seem to see largely the present, I’d go back in the past with the imagination, trace the history just as much as I need to understand the influences and traces that define the human nature of the present. Of course, the present state of a population is largely determined by the economic and financial situation, but what I’m interested in seeing is the traces of their ancestors in their blood. The pride, the religion (that back there plays a major role), the greatness of the past and the toils of the present. Who you were and why you are like this

Too bad we’re not living in the Era of Discovery anymore. I am supposing I would have enjoyed it very much.
